Honda Fit Fuel Economy & Performance Specs

Each Fit trim comes with a standard 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that outputs up to 130 hp, with the exception being the EX-L trim, which generates a comparable 128 hp. The transmission type, however, is customizable. While the EX-L configuration comes with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) only, the LX, Sport, and EX trims give drivers the option to choose between the Continuously Variable Transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Honda Fit fuel economy varies slightly depending on which transmission it comes equipped with:

  • Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT): When the LX configuration is paired with the CVT transmission, the Fit earns an EPA-estimated 33 mpg city and 40 mpg highway**, making it even more efficient than the Honda Civic. The Sport, EX, and EX-L trims all get an EPA-estimated 31 mpg city and 36 mpg highway with this same transmission**.
  • 6-speed Automatic Transmission: This transmission is standard on the LX, Sport, and EX trims and results in an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city and 36 mpg highway for the Fit**.

Honda Eco Assist™ System

The Honda Fit helps you improve your efficiency further with its Honda Eco Assist™ System. Standard on the Fit, Eco Assist™ is a fuel efficiency information system that monitors how your driving impacts the vehicle’s fuel economy. By then showing you this information, Eco Assist™ allows drivers to adjust driving behaviors in order to optimize the vehicle’s efficiency. Honda Fit models equipped with Continuously Variable Transmission come with an ECON Button as well, which automatically makes adjustments to improve gas mileage when switched on.
