Our top spot to get your big-screen fix right in goes to Century Grand Cinema, the premier College Place movie theater. They’re a locally-owned independent cinema with 12 screens, stadium seating, and the latest sound and imaging technology — like 3D projectors! A surprisingly large movie theater for a small town, the Century Grand’s two main halls are nonetheless pretty easy to navigate. To top it off, you can see a brand-new feature for just $9.75.

Just down the road from College Place, you’ll find what’s known locally as the M-F Theater. This is a great place to treat the whole family to some old-fashioned fun at the drive-in. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a no frills, outdoor theater showing double-features of first-run family films that you can enjoy from the reclined seats of your car! As you’d expect, their season runs just for the summer. Admission is $7 — but remember that it’s cash only!

For something special, check out Althena’s Gem Theatre just outside College Place in Athena, Oregon. Athena’s Gem is a nonprofit organization in its thirteenth year renovating a historic 1901 theatre and saloon building into a regional arts facility. Over the years, a volunteer base of school-aged youth have rolled up their sleeves and donated thousands of hours toward getting the old theatre back on its feet.
