This weekend is Mother’s Day! After the excitement of Spring Release Weekend and the rapidly approaching summer weekends, it can be easy to forget about dear mom. Here in the Walla Walla Valley, you may be scrambling to find the perfect way to celebrate mom, but we have some suggestions for you.

Events:

You’ll find fresh cut flowers, flower baskets, beautifully crafted artisan items, and of course local produce at the Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday, May 12th. It begins at 9am and might be the perfect way to spend time with mom or get the ingredients for a special Mother’s Day meal.

Dads can bring the kids to Blue Mountain Station the weekend of Mother’s Day to paint a flower pot and plant a flower. Blue Mountain Station Co-op provides all materials, including the flowers! It is open Saturday 10-4!

For the older kids, try out It’s Mom’s Turn to Wine at Skylite Cellars, a unique Wine & Petits Noirs Chocolate Pairing. The wine & chocolate experience will include, but not limited to: 4 chocolate & truffle pairings with a variety of white & red wines. The winemaker & owner of Petits Noirs Chocolates had fun creating these combinations with “Mom” in mind. Open through May 13th. Tasting is $16/person or two for $30.

Or maybe you want to bring mom in to Walla Walla Valley Honda to get her that complimentary car wash!

There are plenty of events going on every weekend in the summer that it would be impossible to list them all. For an in-depth look at events, you can always visit www.wallawalla.org or http://calendar.visitwallawalla.com/calendar to search by day.
