Before you can remove any stickers from your car, you need to have the proper supplies. Most of these materials may already be around your home. If not, a quick stop at the local hardware store in Tri-Cities will get you everything you need.

• A hairdryer
• A plastic card, like a driver’s license
• Tree sap remover, or a specialized product like Goo Gone Automotive
• Clean, dry microfiber towels

How to Remove Stickers From a Car Body

Now that you have all the proper supplies, follow these steps to get those old CrossFit stickers off your car.

1. Use the car wash soap to clean the sticker and the surrounding area.
2. Turn on the hairdryer to its highest setting. Holding the hairdryer 2-3 inches away from the vehicle and heat the sticker by sweeping the hairdryer back and forth slowly over the entire sticker.
3. The process of wetting and drying the sticker will weaken the glue. Once the sticker has been thoroughly heated, use your plastic card to push underneath the sticker’s edge. As it begins to lift, you should be able to peel it off. Be patient, it might take time to work the sticker off bit by bit.
4. If glue remains on the outside of your vehicle, you’ll need to remove the residue from the body. Take your microfiber towel and apply the residue remover. Wipe with light pressure until the mess disappears.

How to Remove Stickers From Your Windows

If you need to remove your “Raid Area 51” sticker from your car’s window, you can leave your hairdryer and your plastic card behind. Instead, grab a razor blade and some dish soap and rubbing alcohol. Keep your microfiber cloth handy and you’re ready to get started:

1. If you are attempting to remove a sticker from a tinted window be very careful and extra patient. You do not want to take the tint off your window off with the razor blade by mistake.
2. Use your razor blade to peel up the edge of the sticker. Work very carefully to avoid cutting yourself. You should be able to remove the sticker completely from your window by working at the sticker with the razor blade.
3. Since you’re not at risk of damaging your windows, the leftover residue can be removed with dish soap and hot water. If the soap and hot water don’t work, try to remove the residue with the razor blade directly or move on to the next step.
4. As a last resort, you might be able to use rubbing alcohol to lift the sticker residue from the car. Apply the alcohol to a paper towel, and scrub gently. Then, use a damp microfiber towel to cleanse the surface, and a fresh, clean one to dry!
